I.T Sligo students will be issuing a ‘lorra lorra laughs’ when “IT Sligo does Blind Date” in aid of Irish Autism Action. It takes place on Tuesday October 25th in Hume Hall on the IT Sligo campus. Doors open at 7pm with the event kicking off at 7.30pm sharp. All money raised on the night will be donated to Irish Autism Action (IAA).
Our presenter on the night is Tia Scully from iRadio who is full of enthusiasm and fun and will bring lots of laughs and excitement on the night. On the night ITV's Blind Date goes "Sligo Style" as we are giving 8 lucky student Males and 8 lucky student Females the chance to go on a romantic date. There’s only one catch they have to be single and ready to mingle.
The show’s format takes three singles of the same sex who will be introduced to the audience. They will then be questioned by a single of the opposite sex, who will hear but not see them, to choose with whom to go on a date. Before the decision, Lisa Brady from iRadio, will give an amusing reminder of each contestant. They will be competing to win a chance to go on dinner dates which have been kindly sponsored by local restaurants in Sligo.
Irish Autism Action is a young dynamic, innovative and passionate organisation formed in 2001 to bring positive change into the lives of those affected by autism. The range of services provided by the IAA includes raising awareness. Early detection diagnosis, education support, advocacy, counselling, helpline, home based support, transition planning, social housing, research information and advice for families upon receiving diagnosis. By holding this event the students hope to raise awareness of all of this to everyone on the night.
Admission is €5 with some great prizes to be won on the night…..And who knows who you might meet!
