Oddsocks Revival are gearing up to launch their debut EP “East of Jacksonville” in The Clarence on Easter Saturday 4th April. Oddsocks Revival, one of Sligos most popular bands, are planning to celebrate their EP launch with the biggest party gig Sligo has seen. The funky rockers who often attribute Whiskey as an influence on their good time music plan to make sure that the whiskey flows cheaply with a Benchmark whiskey Promotion on the night. Support will be from the fantastic Sligo Hip Hop group This Side up. These two bands often join forces on stage and the result is a phenomenal collaboration that leaves crowds hopping to a Rage against the machine meets Beastie Boys style jam.
Oddsocks Revival was born in Co.Sligo, Ireland, with the sole purpose of bringing you good time Rock & Roll, Funk and Blues. A striking stage presence and blend of music styles has given them a solid rep as a band who will keep the good times rolling. These four talented lads have been playing together since the summer of 2003 and have developed a powerful connection on stage which is evident at every gig.
The Oddsocks have recently toured with Alabama 3 after been asked to support them on their latest Irish tour. The tour seen them impress crowds across the country and cement a following in many towns. The tour culminated with the Oddsocks Revival and Alabama 3 performing 2 songs together for the encore. Alabama 3 front man Larry Love was so into their music he insisted on joining them onstage for their “Crazy Funk” tune.
Oddsocks Revival have been one of the most exciting rock and roll bands in the North West since the days they were in school winning numerous battle of the bands competitions and spreading their good time music into the hearts and souls of their peers. At Sligo Live 2009, The local lads were one of the highlights of the festival. They’re first a legendary compact gig in Hardigans and their main gig on the big stage seen them wow a sold out crowd ahead of The Saw doctors in The Radison Hotel. The bands first emergence was with Radio Foyle in Derry while they were still in School. Since then the band have been churning out brilliant original yet classic songs. They amassed a huge following in their home town, quickly becoming recognized as Sligo’s original goodtime band. The past two years have seen the band develop a truly original sound mixing humbucking blues and dirty funk grooves. Together with twin guitar leads and powerful four part vocal harmonies the Oddsocks Revival have set themselves apart from other bands.
With an eclectic genre mix, Oddsocks Revival attract a dedicated following of groove lovers aging from 16-60. The band turns heads at every gig, creating a unique sound and atmosphere which always gets the crowd partying. They stole the show the Donegal Music Festival 2 years in a row. They’re ground trembling show headlining the street festival during the World Rally Championship 2009 was one of the band highlights.
Oddsocks Revival brings more energy, more blues and more of that dirty funk to a night out than any other band on the scene at the moment!
