What happens when a thousand year old musical tradition gets washed up on the shores of a vibrant multi-cultural city in the West of Ireland? The result is the Bahh Band.
Based in Galway, the Bahh Band mix Indian classical forms with an array of world folk traditions and stir it all up with a healthy dose of rock and blues.
From performing in a thunderous storm packed tent on the final night of Electric Picnic, to playing for thousands of devotees in the RDS in Dublin for Indian guru, Amma, the Bahh Band have become known for their hypnotic and engaging live shows.
An equal parts blending of Dead Can Dance, Sigur Ros and Kila, the Bahh Band have developed a cult following based on their unique sound.
In 2011 the group have been invited to perform in India at the Delhi festival and are touring the West Coast of Ireland as part of their “Indian summer surfari tour”.
The Bahh Band play at The Model on Saturday, May 21st at 8pm.
Tickets, priced €15, are available online at www.themodel.ie/music or from The Model Box Office at (071)914 1405.
